Spring Sports Roundup

On Saturday, April 10, the softball team won their opening game against our rival Branford, 14-1. During the 5th inning, the team erupted with 8 runs, leading to a 14-1 mercy rule. On April 20th, the track team had a meet against North Haven. Allie Stettinger threw her Personal Record in the shot put, discus, and javelin during this meet and came in 1st place in all 3 events vs North Haven. On April 23, the softball team won against Hamden, 22-1. Led by Brooke Clancy and Emily Bishop, the Yellowjackets put up 5 runs in the 1st inning to start off the game. On May 6, the softball team won once again against Hamden, 17-0 at home. A major highlight during this game was Tori Heaphy's 100th career hit. On Saturday, May 8th, the softball team beat West Haven 4-3 in a close game. The game-winning run was hit by Emily Bishop in the bottom of the 7th. As of May 8th, the East Haven softball team has a record of 10-1.
