The boys soccer season began on September 8th, but it start off as they hoped for. They lost their first game to Branford 6-0 and then lost their next 2 games. They finally beat Harding, improving their record to 1-2-0. We got the chance to speak to one of the boys soccer captains, Maxwell Kwashie to see what’s going on and what they’re working on to improve throughout the rest of the season. They have a amount of challenging games with a new coach. Maxwell commented on the fact there are more freshmen and players this year than last year. The team even had to start to deny players because they do not have enough jerseys. The team is working with the new coaches: East Haven Resident Ryan Harrold and Clinton resident Chris Rapiano. The coaches have set up a new system for the team and are employing a new style of soccer that focuses on a short timed system with not holding the ball for too long and not sending the ball long down the sideline for a quick chase.
